Sales Intelligence runs on your own provider accounts. You connect them once through the setup wizard, set spending limits where they exist, and from that point on every report your agency or your prospects generate is billed straight to those providers at their direct rates.
This bring-your-own-key model gives you full cost control and avoids any markup on data or AI usage. You also keep the keys, which means you can rotate them, cap them, or pause them whenever you want.
Where to find the setup wizard
Open `Sales Intelligence` from the main menu, then click `Settings` near the top of the workspace. You can also reach it directly from the dashboard if Sales Intelligence has not been set up yet.
Only the agency owner can run the wizard. Sales agents can use Sales Intelligence once it is set up, but the keys and budgets are controlled by the owner.
The four steps of the wizard
The wizard guides you through the connections in a fixed order. You can leave and come back at any time and your progress is saved.
| Step | What you do |
|---|---|
| Start | Review the BYOK model and confirm you understand you need your own DataForSEO and OpenRouter accounts |
| Data Source | Connect your DataForSEO account, choose the API mode, and set your monthly budget |
| AI Brain | Connect your OpenRouter account so AI sections can run on full reports |
| Launch | Review what is connected and confirm Sales Intelligence is ready to use |
Connect DataForSEO
DataForSEO powers the local ranking data, business lookup, and visibility map. Every prospect search and every report uses it.
You can sign up for a free trial that includes a small starting credit. Once you have an account, log in and copy your API credentials from the API Dashboard.
- Open the wizard `Data Source` step
- Choose authentication mode: login plus password, or base64 token
- Paste your credentials and pick the queue (Standard or Priority)
- Set a monthly budget so you never exceed what you want to spend
- Optionally set a low-balance threshold so you get an alert before you run out
- Click test, then save
Standard queue is fine for almost everyone. Priority is faster but more expensive per task and only worth it if you need near-instant results for live demos.
Connect OpenRouter
OpenRouter is the AI gateway used for the deeper analysis sections inside full reports. It gives you access to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other models through a single API key.
Create the account, top up some credits, and generate a key. Paste the key into the `AI Brain` step of the wizard.
- Sign up for OpenRouter and confirm your email
- Add a small amount of credit to start (a few dollars is usually enough to run dozens of reports)
- Generate an API key
- Paste the key into the wizard
You only need OpenRouter for full analysis reports. Budget mode reports do not use AI, so you can launch with just DataForSEO if you only plan to run budget reports for now.
Connect AnyMailFinder (optional)
AnyMailFinder is an optional integration that lets the pipeline find a prospect email when only the business name and website are known. It is not part of the wizard, but you can connect it from the same settings area after the wizard is complete.
You will see a `Find Email` button on prospect cards once this is connected. The button calls AnyMailFinder under the hood and stores any result it returns against the lead.
- Create an AnyMailFinder account and grab the API key
- Open the AnyMailFinder card inside Sales Intelligence Settings and paste the key
- Save and start using the `Find Email` action on the pipeline
Control your costs
Because Sales Intelligence uses your provider accounts directly, your costs depend on how many searches and reports you run.
Each report has an estimated cost displayed in the workspace before you click generate. The actual cost is recorded against the lead so you can see exactly what each report cost you.
- Set a DataForSEO monthly budget inside the wizard
- Top up OpenRouter credits in small amounts rather than large amounts so you can adjust as you learn
- Use Budget mode for cold outreach and Full analysis for warmer prospects
- Check the Pipeline tab to see actual spend per report
Budget mode reports usually cost cents per lead. Full analysis costs more because of AI tokens. Test a few of each before committing to a campaign volume.
Rotate or replace your keys safely
If a key leaks or you want to switch providers, generate a new key inside the provider dashboard first, then paste it into the wizard. The platform encrypts every credential so the old value is replaced cleanly.
You can change keys at any time without losing your reports, leads, pipeline activity, or settings.
Troubleshooting
If a report fails to generate, the most common cause is a credential issue. The setup wizard surfaces the last error returned by each provider so you can usually fix it in one place.
- Wrong DataForSEO password: regenerate or copy it again from the API dashboard
- Out of credit on DataForSEO or OpenRouter: top up and retry the report
- Hit a temporary network error: the report retries automatically, no action needed
- Plan does not include Sales Intelligence: upgrade or talk to your account manager
