Automate Review Requests from WooCommerce Orders
When an order is marked completed in WooCommerce, EmbedMyReviews adds the customer to a review campaign and sends the request by SMS or email at the time you choose. Refunded and cancelled orders are skipped automatically.
No plugin to install. The connection runs through the store's own REST API keys, and the webhook is created for you during setup.
Sends 24 hours after completion. "Hi Priya, thanks for your order. Would you share a quick review?"
How It Works
Three steps in the setup wizard. The webhook is created on the store for you.
Connect the store
Paste the store URL and a WooCommerce REST API key with Read/Write permissions. Keys are validated on the spot and stored encrypted.
Choose campaign and timing
Pick the review campaign, then send immediately, up to 24 hours after completion, or the next morning at a set time.
Activate
The webhook is created through the store's REST API and completed orders start flowing into the campaign.
What triggers a request, and what never does
The integration listens to order updates and acts only on the order states that matter. Customers who did not receive their order are never asked for a review.
Built for Stores That Ship
Because the trigger is the completed order, the request lands after delivery, when the customer has something to say.
Local retailers with an online store
Shop-floor sales and web orders feed the same Google Business Profile. This covers the web side automatically.
Made-to-order and craft businesses
Orders complete days after payment. Anchoring to completion means the request follows the product, not the checkout.
Food, drink, and subscription boxes
Campaign-level duplicate rules stop repeat buyers from being asked every single order.
Service businesses selling through Woo
Bookings, courses, and consultations sold as products still complete as orders and trigger the same way.
B2B and trade suppliers
Point the campaign at Trustpilot or Google and collect reviews from account customers after each delivery.
Agencies managing WooCommerce clients
Each client store connects with its own keys under its own account. Nothing is shared between clients.
Integration Features
Built to keep running on real stores, where webhooks fail and hosts strip headers.
No plugin, your keys
Connects through a WooCommerce REST API key you create and can revoke. Nothing is installed on the WordPress site.
Timing you control
Immediately, 15 minutes to 24 hours after completion, or the next morning at a chosen time in the store's timezone.
Refund-aware
Refunds, cancellations, and failed payments cancel pending requests. Orders already refunded on first sight are never queued.
Self-healing webhook
WooCommerce silently disables a webhook after repeated failures. Every six hours the integration re-activates it and back-fills completed orders from the last 72 hours.
Billing details become contacts
Name, email, and phone are read from the order's billing details, so requests can go out by SMS, email, or both.
Order log and counters
Every order received, skipped, cancelled, or sent is listed with its reason, alongside totals for orders received and requests sent.
What you need before connecting
EmbedMyReviews connects to WooCommerce through the store's own REST API, with no plugin and no marketplace app. The setup wizard checks each requirement before anything is saved.
- A store URL that starts with https://. WooCommerce only accepts API keys over a secure connection.
- A REST API key created under WooCommerce, Settings, Advanced, REST API with Read/Write permissions, owned by an administrator or shop manager.
- A review campaign with SMS or email configured through your own provider.
Hosts that strip the Authorization header
Some managed WordPress hosts drop the Authorization header before it reaches WooCommerce. The wizard detects this and falls back to query-string authentication automatically, so the connection still validates.
The test ping is confidence, not a gate
WooCommerce sends an unsigned ping when the webhook is created. Some stores block it while real deliveries work fine, so you can activate without waiting for it.
Your providers. Wholesale rates.
Review requests triggered by WooCommerce orders are sent through your own Twilio (SMS) or SMTP (email) accounts. You pay wholesale rates directly, with no EmbedMyReviews markup on messaging.
Common questions
Do I need to install a WooCommerce plugin?
No. EmbedMyReviews connects through a WooCommerce REST API key that you create under Settings, Advanced, REST API. The webhook is created on the store through that key during setup, and you can revoke the key at any time from WooCommerce.
Which orders trigger a review request?
Only orders whose status changes to Completed. Processing, on-hold, and pending orders are ignored. Refunded, cancelled, and failed orders cancel any request that has not been sent yet, and orders with a zero total are skipped.
When is the request sent?
You choose during setup: immediately, a fixed delay from 15 minutes up to 24 hours after the order is marked completed, or the next morning at a set time in the store timezone. The delay is measured from the completion timestamp recorded in WooCommerce, not from when the webhook arrived.
Will repeat customers be asked after every order?
Each order is only ever asked once. On top of that, the review campaign has its own rule for ignoring duplicate requests for a number of days, so a customer who ordered last week is not asked again this week.
What happens if the webhook stops delivering?
WooCommerce disables a webhook silently after seven consecutive failed deliveries. Every six hours EmbedMyReviews checks the webhook, re-activates it if needed, and back-fills any completed orders from the last 72 hours so nothing is lost. If the webhook has been deleted from the store, the integration is flagged as needing attention.
Can an agency connect multiple client stores?
Yes. Automations are set up from the agency account for each client. Every store connects with its own REST API key under its own client account, and requests go out through that client's campaign and messaging providers.
