Review Source Compatibility

Use this guide to understand which review sources support syncing, deep links, feedback forms, direct replies, auto-respond, and mobile app behaviour.

Not every review source behaves the same way. Some are full operational sources with syncing, replies, and automation. Others are mostly useful for syncing proof into widgets and reports.

This guide helps agencies choose the right source mix without promising functionality a platform does not actually support.

The three rules that matter most

  • Direct replies and auto-respond are mainly a Google Grant Access and Facebook story
  • Mobile app deep linking is mainly a Google and Facebook story
  • Feedback form support depends on whether the source has a public write-review page

Sources that work well for sync, widgets, and feedback forms

These sources usually support syncing and a public write-review path, which means they are useful for both review display and collection flows even if they do not support direct replies.

  • Trustpilot, Yelp, TripAdvisor, Yellow Pages, Yell, Zillow, BBB, HomeAdvisor, Houzz, Trusted Shops, Amazon, Booking.com, Angi, Service Seeking, Reviews.io, Trust A Trader, Airbnb, G2, Capterra, OpenTable, Edmunds, Checkatrade, Vitals, WebMD, Just Eat, Zocdoc, VRBO, Agoda, GetAgent, Healthgrades, RateMDs, PatientConnect365, RealSelf, Anwalt, Advocado, Kununu, Hipages, Jameda, Kiyoh
Worth knowing

For most of these, AI review suggestions still work. The difference is that you usually copy and paste the reply manually on the source itself.

Sources that sync but cannot be used as feedback form destinations

These platforms tie reviews to bookings, jobs, orders, downloads, or closed-loop user flows. Because they do not offer a public write-review URL, they cannot be shown as normal review-site buttons inside the feedback form.

  • Thumbtack, Rated People, Apple App Store, Apple Podcasts, Hotels.com, MyBuilder, Mindbody, Deliveroo, Takeaway.com, Zomato, Doctify, Thuisbezorgd, Rover, HomeStars, RepairPal, Treatwell, Fresha, Airtasker, Planity, Werkspot, Travaux, Instapro, MyHammer

Sources that can show occasional sync delays

Some platforms use bot protection or heavier anti-scraping measures. That does not make them unusable, but it does mean occasional delays are normal and reviews may catch up on the next sync cycle.

  • Yelp, TripAdvisor, Zillow, Angi, WebMD, G2, Checkatrade, Hotels.com, Thuisbezorgd

How the built-in Testimonials source fits in

Testimonials is not an external review site. It is an internal source inside the platform that stores first-party testimonial content collected through your feedback form.

This is useful when the business wants stronger social proof assets without sending every happy customer to a third-party site.

  • No external URL or credentials are required
  • Testimonial collection still depends on the Testimonials source being connected at the location level
  • Custom testimonial branding can be configured from the white-label area

A simple decision framework

  • If the business is local and wants operational depth, connect Google with Grant Access first
  • If Facebook still matters in the market, connect it second
  • Then add the best path-based platforms for the niche so widgets and reporting reflect the full reputation picture
  • Do not promise feedback-form routing on platforms that only allow reviews after orders, bookings, or verified jobs
